From the Director
Integrity in research is not just about playing by the rules and regulations that the federal government has enacted. It is about the richness of the data and how the data collected can be applied to important strides within the field of research. If the data is collected, analyzed and disseminated with integrity, then the researcher can have confidence that their contribution has made a difference somewhere in the lives of others, even if it is just a small piece of the puzzle.
The UNCG Office of Research Integrity strives for integrity through the clarity of our information, guidance and resources. When there is clarity as to these guidelines, the researcher has a stronger grasp of what kinds of information can be applied to their work to achieve integrity within their results. It is my hope that our office can truly support both faculty, staff and students as they go through the beginning process of nurturing their research and helping them get to their data in a way that is ethical and supportive of all of their future endeavors.
The UNCG Office of Research Integrity hopes to strengthen the foundation of faculty and student research through education, clarity as to the federal regulations, and the excitement of knowing that you are considering the process of exploring your ideas as they relate to all of the humans, and sometimes the animals, that you are interacting with in order to make a difference in the world. It may be the beginning, the middle or the end of your research career, but there is always time to learn how to do it better.
Our office is always available to answer any questions you may have.
